The VoimaNaiset seminar encourages women to shine in their (working) lives and build meaningful career paths that are unique to them.
How did it all start?
In 2024, Jannica Granbacka founded a women's network called Shine like a Diamond in Vaasa. The idea for the network had been brewing for over ten years. At the age of 25, Jannica had graduated from Hanken and quickly advanced to positions of responsibility in a male-dominated field, and even then she felt there was a need for a women's network.
When Jannica began organizing lectures on building courage through her company Braining Company in the spring of 2024, women came to the event hoping to establish a network. As a fast-paced and energetic woman, Jannica decided to meet this need and at the same time realize her long-standing dream.
The basic idea behind the Shine like a Diamond network is to bring together women of different ages and backgrounds to share their experiences and learn from each other. It is never too late to learn more about yourself and realize your dreams. Sometimes you need important sounding boards by your side who encourage you and open new doors to help you realize your dreams.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Jannica Granbacka, founder of Braining Company and the VoimaNaiset seminar, and Paula Erkkilä, CEO of the Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce.
Next step?
At the end of 2024, Jannica attended the same lecture as Paula Erkkilä, CEO of the Ostrobothnia Chamber of Commerce, and they immediately hit it off. When the idea for the VoimaNaiset seminar was born, Jannica invited Paula to lunch and presented the concept to her. Paula's encouraging words gave her the energy to push the project forward, and the rest is history.
The first seminar was sold out a month before the event! Two hundred amazing women came to be inspired, share stories, and network. The feedback from the event was so positive that it has led to future plans for the VoimaNaiset seminar.
In 2026, the VoimaNaiset seminars will be held in Jyväskylä, Vaasa, Oulu, and Helsinki. More plans for 2026 include a large number of Finnish cities from Rovaniemi to Helsinki.
