Collaboration at the Core of Our Work

I work at HalpaHalli as a Purchasing Manager for clothing. In my role, I am responsible for a broad scope: developing our own brands, managing brand collaborations, and planning our assortments. In practice, my work involves partnerships, assortment priorities, goals, budgeting, visibility, and the continuous development of our offering.

An important part of my role is developing our own clothing brand, Monia, but the overall scope also includes extensive collaboration with well-known brands, as well as assortments in areas such as footwear and home textiles. Within home textiles, we also have our own brand, Kotini.

I am surrounded by a skilled team with whom I discuss, brainstorm, and make decisions together. Often, the best ideas emerge from these shared conversations.

The Customer’s Everyday Life Guides the Assortment

When planning assortments and collections, I always think about the customer’s everyday life. Our long experience in fashion retail has taught us to understand the Finnish customer and her needs very well.

We offer many well-known brands across categories such as underwear, fashion, footwear, and home textiles. However, the overall assortment must work together in a way that feels relevant and inspiring to the customer. Collections should support and complement each other, whether they are our own brands or partner brands. This creates different “worlds” and cohesive concepts where customers can easily find what suits them.

Above All, the Work Is About Collaboration

In my role, I meet many people – suppliers, partners, and other stakeholders. Still, the most important part is my own team, as this work is something we do together. The most rewarding aspect is the joy of success and the moments when customers are satisfied.

Growing up in a family business, work and everyday life naturally go hand in hand. The family dynamic is visible in the way we work – things are done with heart, and a lot of energy is invested in what we do. It also makes the work more emotional.

I am incredibly proud of the company my father has built from the ground up to what it is today. I want this story to continue into the future – and I am grateful to be part of it.
